Violin Guarneri del Gesu 2022
I started this violin in October 2022, this instrument had been ordered some time before by a regular customer.
The idea was exploring the different possibilities of Guarneri del Gesu´s designs and deepen my study and knowledge of his models and working methods of his late period. I had previously worked on a Dushkin model and this time I was focused on the Viextemps of 1741.
Violin Stradivari P 2021
A Contemporary violin by Jose Catoira, built over my reinterpretation of the P mould of Antonio Stradivari that is house in the Museo del Violino .
Departing from this mould and the measurements of the Gibson-Huberman of 1713 played by Joshua Bell, I arrive at this very compact and comfortable violin of impressive sound.
This instrument was a bespoke build and is now used by the Concertmaster of the UIm Orchestra.
Violin Guarneri del Gesu 1741 «Dushkin»
Violin modelled after an instrument of Guarneri del Gesu 1741.
With all the features we expect to see in a violin of the Cremonese Master´s late period, the scroll carved with a very free loose hand and fluidity and the fhole placement very asymetrical, creating an area of great movement in the accoustic center of the instrument.
The original was Samuel Dushkin´s favourite violin for a large part of his long career, being his “custidian” from 1927 to 1976.
A violin with a very strong personality both accoustically and aesthetically.
Antique finish of a homemade oil varnish coloured with red madder lakes and rosinates.
Bespoke order.
Violin Stradivari PG
The P.G. model of Antonio Stradivari. A violin built on a reinterpreted mould of the timeless design after studying the original in the Museo del Violino
The P.G. is well defined by very smooth curves with soft transitions and ample circles on the bouts. A very refined look.
The length of back is 356mm, standard body-neck stop of 195/130mm.
Built with well aged romanian maple and alpine Val de Fiemme spruce. Light materials for and excellent accoustic output.
Home cooked linseed oil varnish. Pristine finish for a fresh and modern player.
Custom order.
Violin Obie 1
