Violin Guarneri del Gesu 1741 “Dushkin”

Violin by Jose Catoira

Here is a violin modeled on a Guarneri del Gesu instrument of 1741.

Featuring all the elements we expect to see in a late period violin of the Cremonese Master, the scroll carved freely and with a swift handleing of the gouge and the asimetrical setting of the f´holes creating a borad vibrating central area on the top.

Once the preferred concert violin of Master Samuel Dushkin who was its custodian from 1927 until 1976.

This model results in a violin with very defined visual aesthetics and acoustic properties.

Antique varnish.

This instrument was made on comission.
